Icky Icky I Feel Sicky
So, for those of you who have had birthdays in the past week (my roommate, lynn) I apologize for not calling you guys. Reason being, I have laryngitis. I dont see it going away any time soon. I can talk, but not very much, and my voice cracks constantly. I think someone commented that i am going through puberty. Oh boy, im gonna be a real man soon :) ahh... scary thoughts. So, for those of you who have called me, i will try to return your calls as soon as i am able to carry on a decent conversation. I really hate laryngitis... it bites!!

Snow Patrol
You may be asking yourself "I wonder how andrea is doing, she hasnt posted in awhile" Well, i am here to answer your questions... have no fear, i am here :) Yeah, im a dork... moving along...
The snow is AMAZING... I was pissed, because all the snow melted the day before christmas eve. It was really warm, and rainy. Worst thing ever. It freakin snowed in TEXAS, but it was rainy here. Not fair.. Well, im over it now, cause we got dumped today. Oh yes. I have been skiin before during the break, but today was my first day boarding. The powder was incredible. It hasnt been this soft in awhile. There was a layer of ice under it that was kinda nasty, but the important thing was that there was at least 5 inches of real snow covering it at 4pm after everyone else had knocked the snow around. Not man made snow, real sugar snow. Great stuff.
Lifting is goin well.. i have finally adjusted to the freakishly cold temps here, and now when its above zero, its actually fairly warm (enough to wear a long sleeve, w/o a jacket, not like im gonna break out the shorts or anything) I get to talk to a lot of people, so thats really cool.
Darkside, i must say, is the COOLEST job ever. It is by far the best snowboarding shop in the east, and well... its so laid back and chill. It is such a great work environment... i love it. I should just stay here in rut-vegas and work on killington and forget school... well... maybe not, i think school will pay off in the long run. But i am loving it at home... good stuff
Havent really seen much of my old school friends... oh well, ive been workin two jobs and skiing/boarding on my free times, im beat by the end of the day. Ive been goin to bed at like 9... its pathetic.. im gonna die when i go back to Texas. Going to bed at 8pm is unacceptable in college :)
As promised, i will take up my camera to work one of these days, most likely tomorrow, and take pictures and post them for all who want to see how beautiful my job is :)
God is great. Today i completely almost crashed my jeep. Because of the major snow dumpage, the roads are well, slick. Out of towners (herbs) cannot drive in snow, and cause many accidents. Or they drive mega slow, cause they think the snow is gonna jump up and bite them... moving along, yeah, so i turned onto my road, and skidded around a lot, swerving both guard rails and doing multiple 180s. Thanks to God and drivers ed, I steered into the turns and evened out the jeep. It was pretty scary for awhile, but God kept me safe, I didnt crash into anything, tip the jeep, and there wasnt anyone else on the road at the time. Saved by God again :)
Well, i should go and get some sleep now. Im workin from 7am to 10pm tomorrow.. oh yeah, im rakin in the money.

Ive become so numb...
Have you guys ever felt like you completely belonged somewhere? And your thoughts are reaffirmed when you leave, and you feel out of place and awkward? Thats the way i feel at home. I am completely at home and content with my family and my surroundings. When i leave, it feels awkward like im not supposed to be there. Even though its about 15 below zero right now, i love it. What keeps me in Texas are my unbelievable friends that i love very much :)
I did wood for about an hour an a half today... that was pretty chilly... but now my house is warm, warm, warm :)

IT IS SNOWY... oh yes... nice snowstorm last night, very happy about that... we are supposed to get another one on thursday. I hope the great lakes decide to conjure up another storm and send it my way.
Ive been able to spend a lot of time with breezy and tyson. Tyson just had his first semester of college. Its wierd to see how hes changed since that. He also has a lot of random music on his computer, good stuff for next semester. Hes also really gotten into the fact that we are irish. Kinda cool.. kinda random... ;)
Hopefully i will be able to post some pics of snowy home when i find my camera...
Bre got me a job at DARKSIDE. So, not only do i get a free pass by workin at killington, i get half off of all snowboarding apparal. oh yeah.. best winter ever!!
Finally started the fire after 2 hours of attempting. Still a bit chilly.. not really t-shirt weather, but im not complaing, i gotta get tough for stay outside.
I wanna go skiing... maybe ill get on that today. i should go up there now.. humm...
i wanna paint today too.. so far i have played the piano everyday, reading a nice fictonal book, i need to work on Christmas presents too, so much to do... so little time. i should go be productive now... miss the LU buddies...

Goodmorning
So yes... once again i have pulled an all nighter. Im not sure if this helps me study, but i guess we will find out. Its 6:30 am, and im waiting for either the shower to be free or saga to open, whichever comes first. I am hungry, and i will not take a nap without first taking a shower. Study study study, i have never done so many all nighters in one semester. I feel like im floating. I think this may be a bad sign. Well.. the shower is free... then its off to saga then to bed for a nice nap before Exercise Phys final at 9:45 and Animal Phys at 12:45 thats a lot of physiology, but at least then they will be over! please pray for me as i am scared to death of taking these exams!! AHHHH

I just cant stop smiling
One Week! One Week!
This week has definatey been one of the hardest at LU. I was able to get sleep, but not a large amount. I have made it to Thursday. I even signed offline this whole week until now, so i could work. Now that is dedication. I finally realized how much time i waste on AIM. I should sign off more often.
Anyway, after waking up today, i realized that i have ONE WEEK until i am home. You have no idea how much joy this brings me. I cant stop smiling.
One Week Until:
I see snow
I eat REAL GOOD seafood :)
I can cook
I can see my family
I can see my friends
I can play with my cats
I can snowboard
I can ride my horse
I can make a superhot fire in the fireplace and tick off my parents :)
Be brain dead, and its ok
I can read books that i want to
I can finish my painting
I can play the piano
I can drive the jeep
I can go ice skating
I can play hockey... in my driveway :)

I hate this time of the semester. My mind becomes void of all rational thought, and i feel like im brain dead. I really have nothing important to post about, but i felt like i should at least say something. I have all of the rest of my homework sitting out on my planner. Thats scary, but somehow comforting. In less than two weeks i will be sitting at home in the snowy mountains sitting by the fireplace and playing with my cats. I love home, but i am learning to love texas for what it is. My mind is blank. This time of the semester it seems to hard for me to just do homework, even the smallest task seems hard to finish... XEW

I am not in a good mood today. People are stupid. I always feel guilty when im in a bad mood. Because i dont think i should be in bad moods. Usually i just go to bed, so i dont say things i shouldnt. Well, i didnt do that today. I dont make good decisions when im in a bad mood either. Like asking to hang out with people i shouldnt in times of bad moods... you get the picture.. Anyway.. great song to listen to when in a bad mood... Ben Folds Five on the Naked Baby Photo's album. Its called Song for the Dumped. Its great.. Today my roommate made me listen to classical music to calm me down. It really works well.. classical music is a great thing.
Animal phys is a sucky class. I do not like it, i do not like it at all. It is hard, and frustrating, and stupid. Too much work, pointless work, that makes me very unhappy.
I need to cheer up. Thanks to my friends who cheer me up just by being nice. I love you guys, i really do, i dont think i could make it through school without you. you make me smile
Haha.. good thing happened today. "Beer Goggles" no, im not talking about actually getting drunk. In solheim are goggles that you can wear that simulate drunkeness.. what fun. They intertained me for quite some time. yay for beer goggles :)

Dozing Off...
Well, tonight i tried my hardest to see how late i could stay up. I was tired at 9:30, pathetic i know. After a trip to MSC, and a great sound system later, i returned to my room to watch a movie with Janeil, who had just gotten off of work. We start Elf at 1:00am. It gets to be about 2:30am when the movie is at the climax, the main punch of the story i guess and Santa is running away from the Park Rangers and he needs the spirit of Christmas to run his sleigh. Without belief and spirit from people he cannot fly his sleigh and the rangers will get him. It may be that im very tired, but it reminded me of how glad i am that Jesus doesnt need us to believe in Him for Him to function. He is beyond that. Now granted, there are some serious consequences if we do not follow Him, but He doesnt need us, we need Him. I thought that was cool. Profoundness as i was dozing off...
I also remembered tonight the stark contrast between now and three years ago. Three years ago tonight i was praying that God would save me and that i wouldnt die as i was blind and gripping a trash can. Tonight i was spending time with great friends who truely care about me, and like spending time with me. I was thanking God for His amazing grace, and how much He has given me that i do not deserve. God is amazing, I am alive, I am so alive.

Way away away from here ill be....
Well, i decided to take a break from my riviting paper on the evolution of early tetrapods to write a post. oh boy. you are all special now.
Janeil and i are officially nerds now. We decided that for the heck of it, we were gonna give our cat an autopsy to figure out why it was put down. So basically, we didnt need to go to Glaske and do this, but we wanted to. And it made us happy and excited. yes, that declairs nerdyness.
Note to whitney, in the past 24 hours, i have taken 3 showers...
If you guys go to LU you know that it is time to register for classes. My classes go as follows for all those that care:

8:15 - Elementary Statistics
9:20 - General Physics I
12:25 - Fitness Testing and Percription

2:35 - General Physics Lab

9:20 - Abnormal Psychology
and im goin to Egypt.. its 3 credits of Bible, but there is no official class involved apart from the Spring Break trip there.
Im really excited about my schedule, its gonna be fun. While challenging with lots of math, im lookin forward to it... this could be because im lookin forward to abnormal, or it could be becasue IVAP will be over!!
Things are going well. God is good. My parents will be here TUESDAY!! im so excited!! Jesh will be here on tuesday too!! Tuesday will be one of the greatest days ever!!

I have another prayer request for those interested. My mom called to tell me yesterday that one of my middle school friends was killed the night before. Her name is suzanne. She was with a group of girls who were drinking and driving. She happened to be standing up in the back of a pickup truck, and fell over the edge. To make matters worse, she has a one and a two year old child. Its a very sad situation
Also, another one of my friends from home, Ashley, has a friend Falcon who has dissappeared since Friday. They attend St. Lawrence University in New York. please keep them in your prayers as well.

John Donne
So, here i am... Thursday night, reading John Donne's poems, sonnets and meditations for Brit Lit I. He was an interesting writer, but i really like to read it. It makes me think. He was an interesting guy, somehow related to Sir Thomas More, kinda cool. Ok enough of my nerdyness...
I am actually getting caught up and ahead of work due. This is nice. I am able to right now balance everything. And since i am able to balance everything, i think this is a perfect time to spend more of it with the Lord. He has really allowed me to work through things this semester. It has been wonderful. This semester hasnt gone by without its problems and up all night papers, but He has allowed me to meet new people, make new friends, and get out and have some fun! I know im seriously homesick, but my mom said something a few weeks ago that really hit me today in class. She had told me that it wasnt good to be so upset that i was in Texas. God had me here for a reason and i needed to appreciate that, and do what His will is for me here. Today i realized that. God has me here in Texas for whatever reason it is, and so i need to be content. I can miss home, but i shouldnt hate being here, because its where God has me. And Gods will is soo much greater than mine. He has such a larger picture than i do. I can be so selfish sometimes. being in texas has changed my life around so much i can barely even believe it now. If i had stayed home, i would have never changed, and would most likely be dead now. I look at what my old life was, and while on the surface it looks fun and exciting, I can see underneith to the pain and hurt it was. God has me here, He has me safe. He literally saved me from myself. I need to be grateful for what He has done for me. I need to not hate it here, but love it for what it is, and what i have. I deserve to have nothing, but i have met the best friends in the world here, who honesly have my back and will support me all the time. God is amazing, In all my life, i never thought i would be here, so far away. But it is Gods will, so as long as He has me here, i will be content, and not be angry.

Dont Talk To Me When Im Tired
I went to bed early last night. It was great. I feel really good today. I got less studying done, but i think i seriously needed the sleep! I get wierd and cranky when im tired.
New season of OC starts today
We have an Intramural Soccer Game tonight. YAY everyone should come watch us play at 7:30!! Its a great day for soccer!! Everyday is a great day for soccer!!
Marianne should be brought home soon, she still has a blood vessel that is very close to bursting in her brain though, so she will continue to be very closely monitered!

Another Day, Less Sleep
Well.. sorry about the no posting option recently. Been extremely busy...
Marianne is doing better, she is able to speak, so this means that she is once again concious, and does not have excessive brain damage. So she will survive. I will update again when i know more. Thanks for praying guys!!
Judgement Day went well. I had a blast. It was so much fun! Im almost sad that its over now. It took up a lot of time, but it was so worth it. It really had a great impact on the people that saw it, so I am very thankful for that. It was definately an answer to prayer. However, two days later, and i still have the music from the club scene stuck in my head.. AHHHH!!!! They video taped it, so one of these days, maybe ill actually get to see it. I got a lot of complements of the club scene.. i dont know how to take the, "you make a great drunk skank" complement. Is this a good or a bad thing? Humm... oh well.. fun all around... For those of you who didnt get to see it, you missed out. It was definately a good experience!
I am thanking God massivly for allowing me to finish my paper this weekend. I wrote a Integrated Vertebrate Anatomy and Physiology (IVAP) paper this weekend that was 19 pages long. I got 5 hours of sleep friday and saturday night. Sunday night i didnt sleep, and besides the 5 hours a day for Judgement Day Saturday and Sunday I was workin on this paper. I have never worked so hard at something for so long. Yeah buddy...
P.S. My roommate got a job... but where? no one knows....
Apparantly it is sad that i have never heard of frito pie... what is it anway? Also, i have never heard of mayonnaise on hamburgers. Well i have news for you southern people.. try vineager on your french fries, ketchup on your pasta and eat hash browns with mayonnaise. Then let me know how that goes!
Well now that my paper is done, you may be asking yourself... what is andrea gonna do now with all of her time? the answer is EXAMS. If you would still like to continue to pray for me, please pray that i can focus enough to study for my Exercise Phys Exam (Wednesday) and my IVAP exam (Friday.. which will by the way, kick my butt!!!)

Prayer Request
My dads secretairy Marianne was in a car wreck last night. She had two blood vessels burst in her brain (anyursym sp?) Her car rolled. She is now in intensive care/ surgery up in Burlington VT. our largest city, with good medical care. Brain damage will be dependant on how long she waited before care, and how long the blood was in her skull before it was removed. Blood absorbed by the cells causes damage. She has a son, Mark who i graduated with in high school. He is over in Iraq right now. And a daughtor, Stephanie who is going to school up at University of Vermont, also in Burlington. She has a husband too. Please pray for her. It is very serious! Thanks guys. I knew blog posting was the best way for this to be prayed for! I love you guys!

Turtle Soup....
This weekend was great! I did nothing, and it was everything i knew it could be :) I watched a few movies.. Donnie Darko and Miracle. Both good movies. I recommend Donnie Darko, however, it took me awhile for the ending to really set in. Good movie! Looked up some graduate schools. I guess i gotta do that applying thing by this time next year. Talk about stressful!! Mainly the schools are in Philly and Boston, but there are a couple in NY. They are: Arcadia, Drexel, Bloomsburg University, Penn State, Washington and Jefferson College, Simmons, Mgh INstitiute of Health Professions, Boston University, New York Upstate Medical University, there is apparantly a good school in Albany, NY and I forgot the last one but it is between Albany and NYC. I plan on leaving Texas definatly for grad school. As far as my school is going so far, i should be covering the requirements well.
Mondays ususally suck, but this monday has been pretty good. I've only had one full class so far today. Both Kines courses were either cut very short, or not even held today. Good stuff! Animal phys though, will probably go over, cause it always does. OH well...
So whats everyone doin for fall break? I am staying at good ole LU to work on my comparative morph paper and my exegetical paper. WHOHOO.. fun weekend for me. At least it will be low stress. I wanna go to florida. I want to go somewhere and swim now that i have somewhat of a tan, and im not all pasty.
Good news! Jesh is in town. I dunno how long hes here, and when hes gonna leave, but hes here! YAY. He better call me, or he WILL die! I miss that kid. school has not been the same, but i have benefited from this by inheriting the chair. Such a nice chair. Anways, i should be doing something productive i imagine. Have a great day!

Its 3 am! Wow! Today was an interesting day. I went to my first two classes, but then i got really sad, and wanted to go home. ( I know, im wierd ) So i went to bed right after chapel (11am) and i woke up at 4pm. That was a 5 hour nap! I skipped all of my afternoon classes and just slept. It was great, i really needed the sleep, but now, i cant sleep, its gonna make me noctornal! AHH. Oh well. I also got to talk with my roommate tonight about a lot of stuff. She is awesome! I love her and her crackheaded-ness :-D Well... i think im gonna try sleeping, after i finish reading 1 samuel. Hopefuly i will get some sleep tonight. Today started out bad, but ended good. I need to remember to thank God more often for my friends, because they can always make a bad day good!! :-D

So today, i noticed something... Glaske smells like boy. Ugh. Ya know that smell you get when you visit a guys floor, well today, thats what i smelled in Glaske. How is it that boys have a certain ucky smell. What is up with that? Seriously!?! Any boys care to comment and defend themselves? didnt think so, cause no one responds.. so HA i win!
My thermal lunch bag is ALIVE!! AHHH... run for the berm.
We had a really great meeting for LSM today. It really made me stop and think about a few things. One, i dont wake up and thank God for being alive. I just wake up. Can you imagine how much better your day would go if when you woke up you made a commitment to God that you would allow Him to lead you throughout the day. Amazing. Also, when i get stressed i need to remember to take some time and pray. I find that praying really helps me calm down, now ive tried many other things to help me to relax, but amazingly enough, praying and just spending time with God and His word does the trick. I am not perfect by any means, and i continually, daily try to work on my faults. I fall, oh believe me i fall, but everyday is a new day. It is so encouraging to be here at LeTourneau. It is a great thing when believers can just get together and strengten and challenge each other in the Lord. Wow, i am in amazement.
If anyone would like to help out with LSM we really do need the people. We want to set this campus on fire for God. If you have any ministry ideas, or even have a few hours you can set aside a week. I know that God will bless you in spending time to further His kingdom. One idea... we need help with the Judgement Day carnival. We need people to be extras in the skit either in hell or in a club type scene. Also we need councelors to talk with people after they have seen this show. Judgment Day is going to be open to the community as a safe activity to do during the Halloween weekend. Please help us out. We could really use it!

The joys of English
So im sitting here, trying to read Margery Kempe for Brit Lit I, and i just cant seem to read it. It is boring, and makes no sense. I should just quit while im ahead and do journal entries. Im almost at the end, and right now Margery is lecturing the Priest. Pretty soon it will be about her nursing her husband in his old age. Oh the joys of this book at least this is the last english class that i will EVER have to take.
So i also realized that i really dont get much of a Christmas break. Suck! We get like 3 weeks. I hope next year we get more of a break. Wow, i cant believe that next year is my last year. Its crazy. This semester has gone by faster than any other semester. Now that exams have started up now, its just gonna fly. YAY!
I got a betta fish, but i dont know what im gonna call him. Does anyone have any ideas?

On a friday night..
I did homework tonight.. yeah.. go me! What a great way to spend a friday night. Ive been really unsocial lately, which is really unlike me. I have really enjoyed spending time alone, and im actually happy that no one is around this weekend, cause i can be alone.. is that such a bad thing? I didnt know that it could get so freakin hot in september... wow Apple picking season in Vermont has arrived, which means.... they have had a large frost... i wish we would get a nice frost here!
